We’re pleased to announce the latest software update for Medit Link, Medit Scan for Clinics, and Medit Scan for Labs.
This release adds Glossy mode to the Medit Link Web, enhances flexibility in assigning dental professionals per case, and improves data acquisition for metal surfaces.
It also includes workflow improvements to SmartX and scan filtering, along with a redesigned settings panel for a more intuitive user experience.

Improvements
Web – Enhanced Data Visualization
- A new rendering mode has been added to display scan data with more realistic lighting and color. You can access it in the web viewer via Side Toolbar > Data Display Mode > Glossy.
- The new Glossy mode, added to the existing Matte and Monochrome options, gives users more flexibility in how textures are displayed.
Assigning Dental Professionals per Case
- You can now assign a dentist or dental technician to each case in both the desktop and web versions of Medit Link:
- As a clinic account user, you can share the names of the hygienist who performed the scan and the dentist in charge when placing an order.
- As a lab account user, you can view the dentist for incoming cases and assign a dental technician to each case.
- You can view the assignee for each case in the Case Box, Order Box, In Box, or Work Box list, depending on your account type.
- To find the assignee, click the Case Information icon after selecting a case.
- You can add this as a parameter in your export rules for folder and file naming.
Improved Settings Panel Usability
- The interface has been redesigned to make navigating the settings more intuitive.
- A search bar has been added to help you quickly find and edit specific settings.
- With the new layout, the Storage Management section provides clearer insight into usage and simplifies data management.
- You can now manage settings more easily with individual reset options and real-time updates.
Improved Scanner Ownership Management
- You can now update scanner ownership status directly via My Info > My Scanner.

Improvements
Improved data acquisition for metal surfaces
- Enhanced data capture and user experience for scanning metal.
- You can now capture data from a wider area, and filtering performance for insufficient data has been enhanced.
- The enhanced experience is available on the i900, i700, and i600 model lineups.
Improved usability of the SmartX workflow
- The library assignment window has been redesigned to make it easier to identify the current or recently used library as more become available.
- In Stage Management users can now add or remove steps for the pre-operational and denture scanning.
- Improved manual sorting after library alignment. You can now separate each aligned library individually, rather than detaching them as a unified group.
- Added a feature that lets you replace the aligned library with a healing cap shape when using healing cap–type scan bodies for edentulous scanning. (Details on supported libraries will be announced later.)
New option for data display format
- New “Surface Smoothing” option to change the data display format during or after scanning.
- Users can now choose between point-based data or smooth-surface data based on their needs in Settings > Program Preferences.
Improved Smart Scan Filtering
- Optimized automatic switch between options of Smart Scan Filtering, enhancing data acquisition and user experience.
Improved scan tip information details
- The size of the attached tip is now displayed on screen using capital letters: L for Large and S for Small.
- For i900 and i900 classic, the Medium tip size is now displayed on screen with the letter M.
Added a notification to highlight available Medit Apps benefits when the warranty is activated after connecting the scanner for the first time.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where data occasionally disappeared after optimizing scans captured using HD Scan.
- Fixed an issue where deviation display changed after reopening a case or optimizing alignment (e.g., occlusion alignment) using the SmartX Workflow.
- Fixed an occasional issue where initial data flickered during acquisition in the occlusion stage.
- Fixed an issue where the control button on the i700 and i700 wireless scanners could not be used to select options in the completion dialog.
- Fixed an issue where the Smart Arrows did not display correctly after scanning certain dentiforms.
- Fixed an issue where the screen recording feature didn’t work properly in certain screen resolution environments.
