Anterior Bite Splint with Medit Splints
The Anterior Bite Splint is designed to go in the front of the mouth. To create an Anterior Bite Splint, follow these steps:
- Select the Anterior Bite Splint: Open the Medit Splint app and choose the “Anterior Bite” option under Splint type.
- AI-Assisted Design: The app uses AI to design the splint automatically. Follow the on-screen steps to finalize the design.
- Reinforce the Design: If needed, add thickness in Design Mode to prevent the splint from breaking due to clenching.
B Splint with Medit Splints
The B Splint is similar to the Anterior Bite Splint but extends further back to prevent swallowing and enhance retention. Here’s how to create it:
- Choose Anterior Bite: Open the Medit Splint app and select “Anterior Bite” under Splint Type. Opt for Manual Creation to extend the design towards the back in Outline Designation Mode.
- Outline Designation Mode: Ensure the splint is extended enough to prevent swallowing and improve retention.
Kois Deprogrammer with Medit Splints
A Kois Deprogrammer provides a unique solution by avoiding the teeth entirely and fitting around the gums. These devices are less visible and more aesthetically pleasing as they sit at the back and do not wrap around the teeth. Follow these steps:
- Anterior Stop Design: The Kois Deprogrammer features an anterior stop and wraps around the palate, avoiding the need to attach to teeth.
- Customizing Fit: In Outline Designation Mode, extend the lingual and buccal margins to fit closely to the teeth without discomfort.
