FAQs

What is Medit SmartX?

Medit SmartX is a dedicated scanning workflow designed for All-on-X implant cases.

It simplifies complex full-arch implant scanning into a step-by-step guided process, allowing clinicians to capture accurate clinical data easily and consistently.

Medit SmartX is compatible with the following Medit intraoral scanners:

  • Medit i900 Series
  • Medit i700 / i700 Wireless
  • Medit i600

 Medit i500 is not supported.

No. If you already own a compatible Medit scanner, you can use Medit SmartX without any additional hardware.

No. Medit SmartX is available to all users who own a compatible Medit intraoral scanner, with no additional license or fees required.

Yes. Medit SmartX integrates with a wide range of global partner scan body solutions, allowing clinicians to use multiple manufacturers’ systems within a single platform. The partner ecosystem continues to expand.

No. Medit SmartX supports both horizontal (archform) scan body workflows and centralized scan body workflows, providing flexibility for different clinical approaches.

Yes. SmartX provides real-time scan body alignment feedback, allowing clinicians to immediately detect insufficient scans or errors and reduce the need for patient rescans or return visits.

Yes. As long as the scan body has been captured sufficiently for library matching, the scan data can still be used for prosthetic fabrication.

In addition, SmartX offers a manual alignment option, allowing users to complete library alignment even when real-time alignment is not possible, ensuring workflow continuity.

Yes. The SmartX workflow can be customized to match your clinical process, and once configured, your preferred workflow is automatically applied to future cases.

Scan data can be exported in three different formats, depending on user settings:

  1. Arch data and library data as separate files
  2. Combined arch and library data in a single file
  3. Library data only

All scan data is aligned within a single case and transferred to the lab through Medit Link.

No additional software switching or extra alignment steps are required.

Medit SmartX can be used globally in regions where the scan body manufacturer’s products are certified and commercially available.

Please check each partner’s regional certification and sales availability.

Medit SmartX 2.0 introduces the Anchor Cap feature.

This enhancement improves support for centralized scan body workflows and enables more stable, accurate scanning in complex cases such as immediate loading.

An Anchor Cap is a standardized digital cap generated based on implant positions after scan body alignment.

It serves as a stable reference point for soft tissue scanning.
