In November, Medit hosted a booth at the exocad Insights 2018 – exocad’s first global user event for dental technicians and dentists, which took place in Darmstadt, Germany. During the two day event we showcased our solutions for digital dentistry and visitors were able to meet our Europe team. Additionally, during the second day, attendees had the chance to attend partner sessions hosted by Medit.
During the talks, our speakers provided useful updates on the digital dentistry industry as well as gave practical tips on intraoral scanning. The sessions were led by our Medit representative, Laurence Grice-Roberts, as well as our special guest speakers Armen Mirzayan and Vanik Kaufmann who are experts in the digital dentistry industry.
In his session titled, “Intraoral scanning. How can it improve my workflow?”, Grice-Roberts discussed how intraoral scanning benefits the digital workflow and how the Medit i500 and Medit Link work hand-in-hand to ease the work of both clinics and labs.
The sessions led by our partners Armen Mirzayan and Vanik Kaufmann talked about practical applications of the Medit i500 from intraoral scanning to 3D printing. In his talk, Mirzayan explained about the different file types – namely OBJ, PLY and STL – as well as why color is important in intraoral scanning, particularly when acquiring margin lines. Finally, our guest speaker Vanik Kaufmann presented on how to go from intraoral scanning to 3D printing for CAD/CAM-supported manufacturing of prosthetics.
It was a pleasure to be able to share with the dental technicians and dentists present and we hope that our participants learnt a few useful tips that they can implement in their work.

Exocad Insights 2018 was held on the 19th to 20th of November 2018 in Darmstadt, Germany. The two-day event offered software training sessions, industry partner shows and lectures by international guest speakers. Medit is pleased to have been a part of the successful event!
