A Life-Changing Case

This patient was presented with hypodontia and microdontia with a 6mm midline diastema.
After complete diagnosis and space redistribution by orthodontic treatment using fixed appliance, Dr. Mohammed Raafat decided on fixed prosthodontic treatment.
After completion of the orthodontic phase, the teeth were prepped and scanned using the Medit i600.
The most challenging part of this case was the 3 months retention phase after orthodontic treatment and placement of bridges.

This was a case of vertical maxillary excess and anteroposterior maxillary excess.
Dr. Ahmed Nasef planned to place four maxillary orthodontic mini-screws with the following orientation: two anteriorly with each mini-screw located between canine tooth and the lateral incisor tooth for anterior impaction, and two posteriorly with each mini-screw located between the second premolar and the first molar tooth for retraction.
CBCT segmentation was used to get teeth roots.
The patient’s teeth were scanned using Medit’s intraoral scanner.
The doctor was able to accurately place the mini-screws in between roots safely without any fear of root injury.
