Showcasing Digital Workflows of Dr. Milos Ljubicic

Happy 2023 to our users!

In this year’s first edition of the Medit Times, we would like to introduce the digital workflows of Dr. Milos Ljubicic.

Check out his digital approaches for creating bridges, injectable veneers, and crowns below!

We also want you to share your workflow and useful tips with us by joining

the Medit Users Group on Facebook or by emailing us at mktg@meditcom.kinsta.cloud.

Those featured in the Medit Times will receive a box of tips for Medit intraoral scanners as a thank-you gift.

We always love to hear your feedback!

Case #1

Zirconia Bridge with i700 wireless

An old metal-ceramic bridge (35-37) was replaced with a zirconia bridge using a completely digital approach.

Digital impressions were taken using the Medit i700 wireless.

The bridge was designed with exocad by DT Bogdan Bulic, and the zirconia bridge was milled according to the design.

The bridge was cemented into place following a standard cementation technique.

The result was aesthetically pleasing, with functional and harmonious occlusion.

Case #2

Zirconia Bridge for Anterior Teeth

{% video_player “embed_player” overrideable=False, type=’hsvideo2′, hide_playlist=True, viral_sharing=False, embed_button=False, autoplay=False, hidden_controls=False, loop=False, muted=False, full_width=False, width=’1920′, height=’1080′, player_id=’97404819591′, style=” %}

With the lateral incisor indicated for extraction due to fracture, Dr. Milos Ljubicic decided to use a temporary bridge for soft tissue management for the future final restoration.

An accurate impression of the area using the i700 wireless was used to design a zirconia bridge to replace the missing lateral incisor.

The aesthetics of the bridge were pleasing, fitting perfectly to the patient’s natural teeth.

Case #3

Medit Smile Design for Injectable Veneers

{% video_player “embed_player” overrideable=False, type=’hsvideo2′, hide_playlist=True, viral_sharing=False, embed_button=False, autoplay=False, hidden_controls=False, loop=False, muted=False, full_width=False, width=’1920′, height=’1080′, player_id=’97408126611′, style=” %}

This patient requested a minimally invasive cosmetic solution that would improve the appearance of his anterior teeth.

After acquiring a digital impression using the Medit i700 wireless, future restorations were designed with the Medit Smile Design app.

Digital models were printed using a 3D printer and were used to create a transparent-silicon-based custom-fitting mold.

Composite veneers were completed using an injectable technique with G-Aenial Universal Injectable material.

The digital approach in creating composite veneers provided a precise fit of the veneers and excellent aesthetic results.

Case #4

Implant Zirconia Crowns with Titanium Base

{% video_player “embed_player” overrideable=False, type=’hsvideo2′, hide_playlist=True, viral_sharing=False, embed_button=False, autoplay=False, hidden_controls=False, loop=False, muted=False, full_width=False, width=’1920′, height=’1080′, player_id=’97407087670′, style=” %}

This is a case of implant-supported single zirconia crowns for posterior teeth using a completely digital workflow.

In the first phase, the entire lower dental arch was scanned using the Medit i500, with gingival formers on implants.

Then, using a Medit software tool, a part of the digital impression with gingival formers was deleted.

A scan body was used to represent the position and orientation of dental implants in the scanning procedure.

One scan body was used for both sides, scanning one implant at a time, using the HD camera option of the scanner.

Future restorations were designed using exocad, and plastic crowns were made according to the design for a try-in in the patient’s mouth.

The crowns were sent back to the laboratory with minor changes, and final zirconia restorations were made according to the new situation.

Final crowns were screwed on top of the implants in the patient’s mouth using a torque wrench.
